Inspiration is a Gift to be Shared

I'm basically a self taught artist. It has taken me many years to say that with pride and confidence, although it can be a struggle. My life's work has been a journey: one of discovery, success and sometimes failure.

Like it is for most artists, bringing canvases to life began as a hobby but developed into a more meditative act.  I've been freelancing for years, doing portraiture, murals, faux finishing, commissioned pieces and more.

My work is constant experimentation with new material, processes and ideas. My preferred genre is oils and acrylics; however, I like to express myself artistically with other media as well.

I am inspired by life and all the mysteries it holds. I find inspiration everywhere around me; from people and music, Mother Nature, etc...

I believe that the best works come to those who keep their options open to anything that pops up, instead of obsessing over perfection and trying to create the ultimate masterpiece. Why hinder any progress you could be making through experimentation. I like to be spontaneous and open minded, to put things together in unexpected ways, breaking the rules and stretching the boundaries. I adore irony.

I usually have several works in process concurrently; often pieces get reviewed and reworked. Sometimes the largest challenge for me is making that declaration... "it's done!"
